Biography:

How obstacles affect the final grasping points on an object is the main question of the project I work on. We use behavioral experiments to examine how integrated sensory inputs are exploited for making an optimal motor decision. Since January 2010 I am also working on a collaborative project with Royal Holloway University of London, together with Eli Brenner, Andy Smith and Marco Bartolucci. The aim of this project is to study, using fMRI, whether grasping and two-digits pointing are represented by similar brain activity patterns. So far one paper is accepted in Experimental Brain Research and a poster is presented in the FENS 2010 Satellite Symposium on Motor Control in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
